The Vermont Agency of Education is establishing a new division focused on statewide implementation, education transformation, and quality improvement. This team will lead key educational initiatives and build systems to sustain educational excellence. The Education Transition Support Specialist will be the implementation lead for Instructional Systems, focusing on evidence-based instructional practices, teaching & learning standards, and high-quality instructional materials (HQIM). This role involves partnering with district leaders and educators to enhance curriculum implementation, instructional coaching, classroom practice, and professional learning, while promoting vertical alignment from early childhood through career. The specialist will be part of a team with expertise in inclusive education, data-driven improvement, and operational excellence, contributing to shared responsibilities such as serving as the statewide implementation and district support team, delivering integrated academic, operational, and organizational support, differentiating technical assistance, leading Quality & Improvement Reviews, managing the Early Warning Indicator System, facilitating implementation planning and coaching, translating statewide priorities into local action, coordinating agency expertise, and monitoring progress to recommend interventions. The team aims to strengthen Vermont's capacity for education transformation and continuous quality improvement by building sustainable systems that enhance instructional quality, organizational excellence, and student outcomes. This team collaborates across agency divisions to provide differentiated support based on district needs, acting as a single point of contact to align practices and improve student outcomes. They also manage the Quality & Improvement Review process and Early Warning Indicator System, using data to identify strengths and challenges, shifting the agency from compliance to continuous improvement. During a period of transformation, this team serves as a key liaison between districts and the Agency, providing coaching, facilitation, professional learning, and technical assistance using implementation science and evidence-based practices. This team reports to the Chief Strategy & Accountability Officer.
