About The Position

Teaching Assistant to aide Teacher Education Program faculty with literacy courses. This role is ideal for students who have begun gaining relevant experience and are building their skills through internships, part-time jobs, or significant projects. Typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework. The Teaching Assistant will need graphic design skills and content knowledge of Elementary Social Studies content and successful completion of the course. The e-book will aide PRAXIS-Social Studies testing and be available to anyone. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Able to work independently on given tasks
Graphic design skills
Content knowledge and successful completion of Literacy I, Literacy 2, and Methods of Writing.
Content knowledge and successful completion Elementary Social Studies.

Responsibilities

Aide in Curriculum mapping 3 courses: Literacy I, Literacy 2, and Methods of Writing.
Aide in creating resources for a new course for the faculty member (Literacy 2).
Direction and specifications will be given for the development (e.g. Canvas course development, revise and create teaching materials and assignments, etc. under the direction of the faculty member).
Aide in publishing e-book containing 40 learning modules (open-sourced e-book) with virtual fieldtrips, and each module will be a 10 minute learning module of a historical event.
