Requirements
- Experience working with preschool children with and without disabilities.
- Candidates must have Childhood Development Associates (CDAs) or attend training to obtain the certification.
- Candidates must have excellent communication skills and an ability and willingness to work cooperatively with administration, staff, and parents.
- Applicants must also be willing to participate in curriculum training.
Responsibilities
- Toileting/diapering and heavy lifting may be involved.
- Implementing and preparing augmentative/alternative communication materials and methods maybe involved.
- Working in a cooperative partnership with the staff and implementing a transdisciplinary method of instruction
- Knowledge of effective behavior management techniques and their implementation
- Supporting the classroom teacher in the execution of the kindergarten curriculum.
