About The Position

The Education Program Coordinator provides comprehensive program coordination, administrative, and operational support for KLETC’s Professional Continuing Education (PCE) unit and the CPSL. This position provides support for the planning, development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of professional development and leadership education programs that support law enforcement and public safety professionals. Working collaboratively with faculty, staff, instructors, and external partners, the coordinator supports a broad portfolio of educational initiatives, including leadership development programs, executive education offerings, assessments, conferences, workshops, and other CPSL activities. Responsibilities include coordinating program logistics, maintaining stakeholder communications, and tracking program data and outcomes, ensuring a high-quality participant experience. The Education Program Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for students, instructors, agency representatives, and other stakeholders, contributing to the successful delivery of programs while advancing the missions of both KLETC PCE and the CPSL. This position exercises independent judgment, manages multiple priorities simultaneously, and supports continuous improvement efforts to enhance program quality, organizational effectiveness, and service to Kansas and regional public safety agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree plus one year of experience or high school diploma or GED and 5 years’ experience.
  • Three years’ experience in the management, coordination or delivery of education and/or training programs.
  • Two years of experience with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software applications/technology.
  • Two years of experience organizing and managing multiple and varied tasks and projects as demonstrated by education, work history and application materials.
  • Excellent communication skills as evidenced by work history and application materials.
  • Experience in the management of the training process or in the training and/or education of adults, as evidenced by application materials.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in distance learning delivery mediums, as evidenced by application materials.
  • Ability to work with members of the law enforcement community and/or professional law enforcement associations, as evidenced by application materials.
  • Experience in coordinating remote training and/or events, as evidenced by application materials.
  • Experience working independently to achieve goals with minimal supervision, as evidenced by application materials.
  • Experiences working with adult learners, faculty, administrators or professional groups, as evidenced by application materials.
  • Experience working effectively in a team environment and with deadlines and multiple, rapidly evolving priorities, as evidenced by application materials.
  • Valid Kansas driver’s license or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development, marketing and delivery of law enforcement continuing education and specialized law enforcement seminars, courses, classes, workshops, schools and other training-related events being held at regional training sites across Kansas.
  • Executes KLETC and CPSL’s business strategy by offering seminars, workshops, schools, courses and classes on a variety of law enforcement related topics.
  • Research and develop law enforcement continuing education training classes and seminars for local, state and federal law enforcement officers.
  • Coordinate with faculty, consultants, coaches and subject matter experts involved in CPSL programming.
  • Coordinates participant communications, including enrollment information, pre-course materials, program updates, and post-program follow-up.
  • Administers participant assessments, surveys, and evaluation instruments for leadership development programs, executive education offerings, and other KLETC and CPSL initiatives.
  • Collects, tracks, and analyzes program evaluation data and participant feedback to support continuous improvement, program effectiveness, and reporting requirements.
  • Determines audio-visual equipment needs, instructional supplies, participant supplies and various staff/instructional needs for training events.
  • Recruits subject matter experts as instructors and negotiates terms of contracts.
  • Directs and manages logistics at the training program event. Activities include but are not limited to registrations, classroom set-up, instructional needs and primary contact with regard to participant concerns.
  • Manages program assessment by conducting, interpreting and reporting evaluations from training events.
  • Ensures regional training site is maintained and prepared for training.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, charts, graphs and other documents related to assigned responsibilities and duties.
  • Perform administrative duties in support of the KLETC and CPSL mission.
  • Establish short- and long-term goals relative to assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Actively participate in partnerships with the Kansas law enforcement community and professional law enforcement associations as directed by the management team.
  • Regularly schedule and facilitate regional training council meetings.
  • Working with event planning committees to develop and implement law enforcement association conference programs that occur within regions.
  • Coordinate distance learning programs, classes, courses, etc. with other law enforcement agencies or organizations to ensure maximum customer service.
  • Enhancing the external relations section to reflect partnerships with law enforcement agencies, professional associations, higher education partners, and other stakeholders at both the regional and statewide levels.
  • Serve as SME for all Information Technology used in classroom or remote settings and set up classrooms as needed.
  • Develop and implement technological initiatives to support training.
  • Enrolls students in classes.
  • Reviews registrations to ensure accuracy and contacts enrollees if additional information is needed.
  • Communicate with students, agency heads, etc. to answer questions or provide needed assistance regarding PCE and CPSL classes.
  • Schedules classes in coordination with other KLETC and CPSL training sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.
