About The Position

The Kentucky Department of Education is a premier service agency of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The department provides resources and guidance to Kentucky's public schools and districts as they implement the state's K-12 education requirements. The department also serves as the state liaison for federal education requirements and funding opportunities. Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Three years of professional experience in education, career and technical education, or a related field.
  • Current Rank II or Rank I certification by the Department of Education or Education Professional Standards Board will substitute for the required educational requirement.
  • Additional professional experience in the field of education will substitute for the required educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision, provide consultative services and technical assistance to local public-school districts in the development, coordination, implementation of federal education programs.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of various parts of the Elementary and Secondary Education act, specifically but not limited to Title III, Part A & Title I, Part A.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance to local educational agencies along with other state and private educational agencies in interpreting federal and state educational laws, regulations & policies.
  • Review and approve program applications and other reports.
  • Collect and analyze program data for federal and state reporting.
  • Participate in program trainings and annual federal program onsite consolidated monitoring.
  • Collaborate with education partners within and outside the organization on various projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required.
