About The Position

An Education Paraprofessional, also known as a Teacher Assistant or Instructional Aide, supports certified teachers in delivering instruction and managing the classroom environment. The role includes helping prepare lessons, providing individualized student support, and maintaining an organized and productive learning atmosphere. The paraprofessional works under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with students.
Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing classroom needs and situations.
Basic proficiency in using educational technology and tools.
Knowledge of educational principles and practices.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of student populations, parents, and educators.
Familiarity with classroom management techniques and strategies.

Responsibilities

Assist teachers in preparing and implementing lesson plans and instructional materials.
Provide one-on-one or small-group support to reinforce students’ learning concepts and skills.
Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a learning environment.
Supervise students during non-instructional times, including lunch, recess, and transitions.
Assist with assessing and evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
Support students with special needs in accordance with individualized education plans and accommodations.
Organize and maintain classroom materials, equipment, and supplies.
Provide clerical support, including data entry, record-keeping, and photocopying.
Communicate regularly with teachers, other paraprofessionals, and parents to support student learning and development.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
