The Conventional/5-Axis EDM Operator is responsible for running multiple EDM machines effectively and efficiently. This role involves identifying and resolving production issues, positioning workpieces, and performing daily inspections of parts using various inspection equipment. The operator will perform required operations on EDM machines, including loading/unloading parts, electrode preparation, and changing. They will also be responsible for cleaning, performing preventive maintenance, and making minor adjustments to assigned equipment. Additionally, the role requires preparing and maintaining logs and records, entering data into the computer, and transporting parts as needed. Ensuring safety protocols are followed and maintaining a clean work area are also key aspects of this position. The operator will review various documents such as travelers, shift reports, SOPs, and safety sheets, and prepare labor sheets and non-conformance forms. Interaction with supervisors, co-workers, and other shop personnel is expected. The role involves operating EDM and multi-axis machines, grinders, micrometers, gauges, power tools, and computers.
