State Street•Burlington, MA
•$52,000 - $91,000

About The Position

Alpha Data Services is seeking a collaborative, delivery-focused analyst to support the controlled evolution of its Enterprise Data Management (EDM) capabilities. Under the guidance of experienced team members, the analyst will support EDM change activities from requirements and design through testing, release, and client adoption, with particular emphasis on user-interface functionality and visibility of client deployments. The role will help track the EDM change portfolio, document user-interface design decisions, monitor testing status, and support changes as they progress toward production readiness. A core responsibility is maintaining an inventory of EDM interfaces, features, and software versions deployed in each client environment. This inventory will help the organization understand current client capabilities, identify gaps and dependencies, and explain the functional and operational benefits of future upgrades. The analyst will work with Product, Insights & Analytics, Engineering, Testing, Client Implementation, and Service teams. The role also supports testing coordination, release governance, client upgrade impact assessments, risk and control records, and the maintenance of operating handbooks, process flows, user guides, training materials, and release communications.

  • Exposure to change delivery or software development activities through coursework, internships, co-op placements, or university projects.
  • Interest in learning about security master, issuer, pricing, and reference-data processes, controls, and downstream dependencies.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to explain technical changes in terms of operational and client outcomes.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues across teams.
  • Ability to produce accurate process documentation and contribute to training materials, newsletters, and stakeholder communications.

  • Familiarity with testing, configuration, or client-deployment concepts.
  • Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools such as SQL, Excel, or Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Support the lifecycle of EDM changes, from requirements definition and prioritization through design, build, testing, release, and client adoption.
  • Document business, operational, and client needs, acceptance criteria, process impacts, and delivery outcomes, maintaining traceability between requirements and changes.
  • Participate in user-interface design discussions, document options and decisions, and prepare stakeholder updates.
  • Support reviews of proposed interfaces for usability, consistency, workflow efficiency, and alignment with documented requirements.
  • Coordinate with Product, Insights & Analytics, Engineering, Testing, Client Implementation, and Service teams to align scope, dependencies, delivery dates, and readiness criteria.
  • Maintain a register of functionality that is built but untested, partially tested, or not approved for release; record ownership, dependencies, defects, next steps, and escalations.
  • Support test planning, scenario definition, acceptance criteria, defect triage, and evidence management for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  • Maintain a catalogue of EDM user interfaces, capabilities, configurations, and version dependencies.
  • Record interface and software versions deployed in each client environment, including enabled features, local configuration, known constraints, and outstanding upgrade requirements.
  • Compare current client deployments with target releases and document capability gaps, prerequisites, data and process impacts, testing needs, and implementation risks.
  • Contribute to release and upgrade materials explaining new functionality, operational benefits, control improvements, and client adoption activities.
  • Support release planning and readiness reviews by collating information on scope, testing status, defects, documentation, training, deployment dependencies, and operational acceptance.
  • Help maintain EDM Operating Handbooks, process flows, user guides, and role-based training materials in line with deployed functionality, controls, and the target operating model.
  • Contribute to release newsletters and communications covering new capabilities, resolved issues, client impacts, required actions, and available training.
  • Identify and escalate delivery, testing, deployment, versioning, and support risks; maintain auditable records of assumptions, decisions, and mitigations.
