About The Position

Metroland Media is seeking a part-time Group 1 editor for its central production department. This role involves gathering, editing, and proofing content for multiple print products in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate is skilled, well-organized, adheres to CP style, and is meticulous about grammar, sentence structure, spelling, punctuation, and headline management. You will be expected to work with accuracy and efficiency, build strong team relationships, and go the extra mile to ensure readers receive top-notch products.

Knows CP style
Stickler for grammar, sentence structure, spelling, punctuation and headline management
Works with accuracy and efficiency
Builds strong relationships within the team
Prepared to go the extra mile
Degree or Diploma in Journalism or in related field
Previous Journalism, Communications or Public Relations experience
Previous experience in a newspaper page production environment
Proficient in Microsoft and Share Point
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline driven and demanding environment, driven for results
Strong communication skills both verbal, especially written skills as well as a competent listener
Passion for content, new media and technology
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Proactive and collaborative

Nice To Haves

Experience with and knowledge of the NewsGate/Cue Print layout system
