About The Position

Leidos is seeking eDiscovery Project Coordinators to work on-site in support of the Department of Justice in Washington, DC. This role involves dedicating skills and talent to a newly formed division of the Department of Justice, National Fraud Enforcement Division. The position requires serving as the primary point of contact throughout the discovery lifecycle, applying in-depth knowledge and experience to provide expert consultation and advice on technology and best practices. The coordinator will consult with case teams to effectively develop and apply technical strategies, requirements, and goals to develop and implement project plans, including data collection, processing, document review, document production, and trial. They will act as the primary point of contact and liaison for electronic discovery issues between the legal team and contractors, ensuring proper communication. Additionally, the role involves assisting legal teams in navigating the technology side of their cases as technical consultants and managers, supporting the management of 8-10 very large cases a week, each managed from beginning to end in accordance with the EDRM. The coordinator will advise attorneys on industry best practices as eDiscovery subject matter experts and on technology options to respond to specific discovery needs, including recommendations for early case assessment, document search, and document reviews. They will collect requirements from attorneys, transform instructions into work order tickets, and ensure work is correctly done. Training attorneys with searching and reviewing their data is also a key responsibility. The role ensures standard procedures for electronic discovery and litigation support projects are consistently applied, coordinates efforts in response to discovery requests, and provides regular reports and metrics. Responsibilities include running productions, working with exhibits, assisting in analytics and AI use cases, acting as the technical representative for assigned matters, and handling or providing all other technological solutions for the case team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or equivalent) and 4+ years experience providing eDiscovery services and litigation support on complex and large cases involving complex eDiscovery challenges.
  • Must have demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must possess detailed planning and organizational skills and have a thorough understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM); especially data collection, review, analytics and production.
  • Candidate must possess solid, broad knowledge of Information Technology infrastructures including networks and other sources of data.
  • Prior knowledge and experience managing eDiscovery projects and related technologies required.
  • Advanced experience planning eDiscovery efforts, managing client expectations, and working with clients to minimize their risk exposure.
  • Must be proficient in a wide range of technologies and be knowledgeable as to eDiscovery industry “best practices” including an understanding of multiple tools and processes associated with large scale complex eDiscovery response.
  • Expertise in litigation technology tool usage (Relativity Server, RelOne, Nuix, Axiom, etc.)
  • Must establish compliance with all directives for secured handling of data.
  • Must have proven ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining proper priorities and scheduling with extremely tight deadlines.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degrees strongly preferred along with eDiscovery related technical certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary point of contact and liaison for electronic discovery issues between the legal team and the contractor(s) to ensure proper communication between the parties.
  • Assist legal teams navigating the technology side of their cases as technical consultants and managers.
  • Support the management of 8-10 very large cases a week. Each case will be managed from beginning to end in accordance with the EDRM.
  • Advise the attorneys on industry best practices as eDiscovery subject matter experts
  • Advise legal teams on technology options to respond to specific discovery needs including but not limited to recommendations for products to perform early case assessment, document search, and document reviews in the most efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner.
  • Collect requirements from the attorneys, help to transform those instructions into work order tickets in a tracking system, see to it the work is correctly done (staging, culling, processing and loading)
  • Help and train attorneys with searching and reviewing their data (Rel Server, RelOne or similar document review platform)
  • Ensures standard procedures for electronic discovery and litigation support projects are consistently applied across the life of the case.
  • Coordinates efforts of others in response to discovery requests and provides regular reports and metrics as to the status of each phase of the project.
  • Run productions, work with exhibits, assist in analytics and AI use cases
  • Be the technical representative for the assigned matter
  • Handle or provide all other technological solutions for the case team

Benefits

  • The specific salary range for this position is going to be around $105,000- $110,000.
