About The Position

Full Time Days Reporting to the Nurse Manager and under the general supervision of a Charge Nurse assists both nurses and physicians with patients in the Emergency Department by performing both basic and complex patient care procedures.

Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant OR an Emergency Medical Technician - either Ambulance, Intermediate or Paramedic preferred.
• One (1) year of previous experience in an Emergency Department setting preferred.
• Completion of a High School Diploma or its’ equivalent.
• Current CPR certification at time of hire.
• ACLS certification (Advance Cardiac Life Support) at time of hire or within six (6) months of hire.
• Completion of a Basic Arrhythmia Class at time of hire or within six (6) months of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six (6) months to one (1) year of hire.
• Effective communication skills both written and verbal in order to communicate with patients and their families as well as all levels of hospital staff.
• Prior experience with a computer including data entry.
