About The Position

Centered in the heart of San Joaquin County, Adventist Health Lodi Memorial has been one of the area's leading healthcare providers since 1952. The ED Technician assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations and treatments. They perform a variety of technical and patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and also perform essential functions of the Unit Secretary.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT) or Paramedic (PM) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
  • Phlebotomist Technician license
  • Medical Assistant (CMA) certification

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Registered Nurse (RN) and physician with assessments, examinations and treatments.
  • Performs a variety of technical and patient care duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Performs essential functions of the Unit Secretary.
  • Documents patient care performed, including vital signs, bedside care and observations.
  • Maintains state of readiness by maintaining equipment/supplies appropriate to the position.
  • Assists in cost containment through the appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
  • Prioritizes patient care and department needs, sets goals, and organizes time to meet daily demands of nursing care.
  • Observes, documents and reports patient condition and changes in condition to the RN, MD/Provider.
  • Provides patient and family education within scope of practice.
  • Records and collects specimens.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
