ED Patient Transporter

About The Position
Responsible for moving patients to various locations throughout the hospital. This role involves patient care and works onsite at 55 Fruit Street. The schedule is Thursday through Sunday, 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., for 40 scheduled hours per week. The position also transports laboratory specimens, medical equipment, supplies, and mail.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; experience cannot substitute for this education requirement.
- Customer service experience: 0–1 year required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Reliable time-management and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to complete the physical tasks of the job, including independently lifting 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Medical office, hospital, or managed care experience: 0–1 year preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients or lift them into wheelchairs or stretchers.
- Transport patients to hospital locations for medical procedures.
- Ensure patients are comfortable and safe during transit.
- Monitor the scheduling system for transport requests and complete requests promptly.
- Deliver laboratory specimens, medical equipment, supplies, and mail.
