ED Patient Transporter
About The Position
The ED Patient Transporter moves patients to various locations throughout the hospital, including for medical procedures, and helps ensure they remain comfortable and safe during transit. The role includes assisting patients or lifting them into wheelchairs or stretchers, monitoring the transport scheduling system and completing requests promptly, and delivering laboratory specimens, medical equipment, supplies, and mail. The position requires patient care and is onsite at 55 Fruit Street. The scheduled shift is 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Thursday through Sunday, for 40 hours per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Customer service experience of 0–1 year required.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Reliable time-management and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to perform the physical tasks of the job, including independently lifting 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Medical office, hospital, or managed-care experience of 0–1 year preferred.
