About The Position

To provide safe and effective care to all patients utilizing the nursing process. The paramedic functions under the direction and supervision of nursing personnel/providers. This role involves routine decision-making regarding patient concerns, questions, and abnormal test/vital signs, determining appropriate actions and supplies necessary to maintain patient care. The position also requires recognizing the importance of diversity and cultural beliefs in patient care and providing care across various age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • EMT-P
  • NIHSS
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS required within 3 months of hire
  • NVCI or equivalent class as determined to be required by the facility

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective care to all patients utilizing the nursing process.
  • Function under the direction and supervision of nursing personnel/providers.
  • Determine when to report patient concerns, questions, abnormal tests/vital signs to the RN/ED providers.
  • Determine appropriate actions/supplies necessary to maintain patient care.
  • Recognize the importance that diversity/cultural beliefs have when delivering care to the populations served.
  • Provide care to neonates (birth to 6 weeks), infants (birth -2 years), children (2 yrs-12 yrs.), adolescent patients between 12 to 18 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older.
