Requirements

  • Bachelor of Electronics and Communication, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from an ABET-accredited university.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience in automotive EE HW white box Testing.
  • Experience in testing advanced automotive ECUs (HPC, Zonal Computers etc.) along with the peripheral SOCs.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuits, components, and systems.
  • Ability to read and understand circuit - board schematics.
  • Experience in using testing tools and equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Proficient in embedded code debugging to perform white box testing.
  • Experience in using VT Studio, CANoe.
  • Excellent familiarity with semiconductor data sheets to enable register-level diagnostics and debugging for SOCs/MCU.
  • Demonstrated Hardware- In-the-Loop systems experience (dSPACE, ETAS, HIL systems).
  • Experience with HIL electrical/ wiring harness, load box design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in automotive network and diagnostics protocols.
  • Proficient in wireless communication technologies used in the automotive industry (NFC, UWB, Wi-Fi etc.).
  • Experience with statistical analysis of data to establish pass/fail criteria.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Hardware white box test & stress testing for automotive domain.
  • Understanding HW principles, including test planning, test case design, and defect tracking.
  • 7 years or experience in automotive EE HW testing.
  • Understanding of Bootloaders and Autosar MCAL for board bring-up activities and SOC validation.
  • DFSS Certification.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA), and agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of hardware tests based on requirements, design issues, and best practices.
  • Execute White box test case and work with cross-functional teams to achieve the prerequisites for testing setup.
  • Write test firmware code to trigger the HW MCU & SOCs and perform testing.
  • Perform white box testing using system and hardware interface requirements.
  • Analyze and report test results to the hardware/software design team using defect management systems (ALM / PLM / JIRA etc.).
  • Provide support in the investigation of validation issues, debugging, root cause analysis, mitigation, and corrective action plans.
  • Actively engage with the design community, including component engineers and hardware engineers, in developing solutions for urgent product issues.
  • Provide technical reports, graphs, tables, analysis, logs, timing charts, and status to target test progress reports on a timely basis.
  • Analyze detailed data from Hardware White box tests, synthesize the results, and summarize.
  • Participate in assembly, fitment, disassembly, and inspection of test components.
  • Track testing schedule, and report delays to management.
  • Participate in testing issue discussion with other teams.
  • Create and maintain bi-directional traceability of artifacts like test cases and requirements.
