About The Position

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for an ECM Operator - 2nd Shift to join the team. This role involves performing visual and dimensional checks on materials, holding tape and rods, marking reference points, and reading blueprints or job orders to understand product specifications and tooling instructions. The operator will select, position, and secure tubing in a saw, set up fixtures, operate the machine, and monitor its performance to ensure conformance to specifications. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear, with the ability to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus, are necessary. The role also emphasizes consistent, regular, and predictable attendance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time

Responsibilities

• Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials
• Holds tape and rods and marks reference points
• Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
• Selects, positions, and secures tubing in saw
• Moves controls to position tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
• Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine, and feeds tool to workpiece or vice versa, and engages feed.
• Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
