ECM Operator (2nd Shift)
About The Position
STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for an ECM Operator to join the team. This role involves performing visual and dimensional checks on materials, holding tape and rods, marking reference points, and reading blueprints to understand product specifications and tooling instructions. The operator will select, position, and secure tubing in a saw, set up fixtures, and operate the machine while monitoring for conformance to specifications. The position requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear, with the ability to frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The role also requires consistent, regular, and predictable attendance.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to train on 1st Shift
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
- Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials
- Holds tape and rods and marks reference points
- Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
- Selects, positions, and secures tubing in saw
- Moves controls to position tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
- Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine, and feeds tool to workpiece or vice versa, and engages feed.
- Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
