About The Position

STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for an ECM Operator to join the team. This is a 2nd Shift position, Monday - Thursday, 3:15PM - 1:45AM with a $1.00 Shift Differential. Must be able to train on 1st shift. The role involves performing visual and dimensional checks on materials, holding tape and rods, marking reference points, and reading blueprints or job orders for product specifications. The operator will select, position, and secure tubing in a saw, set up fixtures, and monitor machine operations to ensure conformance to specifications. The job requires the employee to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear, and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Punctuality and consistent attendance are expected.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to train on 1st shift.
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Performs visual and dimensional checks on materials
• Holds tape and rods and marks reference points
• Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and determines sequence of operations.
• Selects, positions, and secures tubing in saw
• Moves controls to position tool and workpiece in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
• Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine, and feeds tool to workpiece or vice versa, and engages feed.
• Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined workpiece to specifications.
• Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time
• Other duties may be assigned as needed
