Echocardiographer
About The Position
The Echocardiographer performs echocardiographic and Doppler ultrasound studies to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities, heart disease, and blood-flow abnormalities. Procedures include two-dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms. The technologist completes reports in the structured report application. The role performs Echo and Stress Echo tests, TEE studies, and Doppler ultrasound in the Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, OR, and ICU, as well as at patients’ bedsides. The unit has five Echo rooms.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited echocardiography program, or equivalent education, in accordance with IAC Guidelines.
- Adult echocardiography registry certification (RCCS, RCS, or RDCS) required within 12 months of hire.
- BLS certification required within 90 days.
- ACLS certification required within 90 days.

- Echocardiographer experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform two-dimensional echocardiograms.
- Perform Doppler echocardiograms and ultrasound studies.
- Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
- Perform pharmacological stress echocardiograms and Stress Echo tests.
- Evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities, heart disease, and blood-flow abnormalities through imaging.
- Complete the technologist report in the structured report application.
- Work in the Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, OR, ICU, and at patients’ bedsides.
