About The Position

The Echocardiographer provides compassionate care to patients and their families, with regard for patients’ mental, spiritual, and physical well-being. The role provides basic and advanced echocardiography services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The technologist performs cardiac, stress, and transesophageal echocardiographic studies, with contrast as required, and delivers services in the hospital, echocardiography laboratory, CVOR, and physician office settings. Services are made available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and on-call duty is an important part of the position. The Echocardiographer is expected to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions. CarolinaEast Physicians includes more than 150 physicians and mid-level providers serving patients across four eastern North Carolina counties, with practices in a range of specialties. Requirements

Be registered with a minimum of one year of experience, which may include one year of clinical student experience performing all aspects of echocardiography, including routine, transesophageal, contrast, and stress studies; alternatively, be registry-eligible as a graduate of an accredited school of echocardiography and/or have one or more years of clinical training in echocardiography diagnostics under the direction of a registered Echocardiographer and/or board-certified Cardiologist or Internist.
Obtain registry within one year of hire.
Maintain current AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Perform cardiac echocardiographic studies.
Perform stress echocardiographic studies.
Perform transesophageal echocardiographic studies, with contrast as required.
Provide services to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
Deliver services throughout the hospital, including the laboratory, CVOR, and physician office settings.
Make procedures available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and participate in on-call duty.
