About The Position

The East Region Director of Cost of Care will lead a cross-functional team in collaboration with Health Plan leadership to evaluate and implement strategies aimed at medical cost remediation through rigorous trend and data analysis. This role leverages experience in program evaluation, foundational health services and health economics research, opportunity analysis, and general analytic consulting to Elevance Health stakeholders and partners.

Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Healthcare Administration and a minimum of 10 years of related experience in broad-based, analytically oriented, managed care payor or provider environment required.
  • Experience must include project management, CMS payment methodology application, and financial/economic business modeling.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate degree in a research-oriented discipline (Health Services Research, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Statistics, Applied Mathematics).
  • Prior leadership or management experience is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in program evaluation, foundational health services and health economics research, opportunity analysis, and general analytic consulting to stakeholders and partners.
  • Strong communication skills, including facilitation, consultation, negotiation, and persuasion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead identification, development, and execution of Cost of Care strategic initiatives with executives and business unit senior management.
  • Report project status to senior leadership.
  • Partner with market and enterprise leadership by providing ongoing feedback on program performance, identifying drivers of success, and delivering insights into future opportunities for program enhancements or expansion.
  • Support day-to-day activities for a team of advanced analysts, delivering reporting and data analytics to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Develop and sustain a high-performing team through training and effective organizational development practices; responsible for hiring, coaching, counseling, and evaluating the performance of direct reports.
  • Implement the policies, practices, and procedures of the company and business units supported.
  • Expand and strengthen relationships with stakeholders both internal and external.
