Riverside's Nurse Aide Program is designed to transition new hires from Hospitality Assistants to fully licensed Certified Nurse Aides. Participants will begin as a Hospitality Assistant in a labor pool (as needed) status until their scheduled 4-week accelerated program begins. This program provides the skills and knowledge necessary to pass the CNA boards. Classes require full-time day shift hours, and participants are paid for all course and clinical hours. Upon successful completion of the program and passing the Virginia Board of Nursing – Nurse Aide exam, graduates will move into a full-time or part-time CNA position at the hiring location. Full-time CNA positions require a 12-month work commitment, and part-time positions require an 18-month work commitment upon graduation. The work commitment must be fulfilled in a Lifelong Health facility (skilled rehab, long term care, or assisted living). Positions in home health or acute care do not qualify for this program. Graduates are eligible for reimbursement for costs associated with registration for the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program (NNAAP) exam to achieve CNA designation. Candidates may be invited to an information session to learn more about the program and interview for open positions.
