About The Position

Early Learning Tutors serve in pre-kindergarten classrooms, partnering with teachers to help young students build early literacy and math skills, confidence, and a love of learning. Tutors receive training and ongoing coaching to deliver proven learning activities and provide students with extra attention and support. The position is part of Early Learning Corps, an AmeriCorps program administered by Ampact.

Requirements

• Be dependable and have a history of good attendance.
• Be able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Have basic computer skills, including email and navigating online.
• Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent by the start of service.
• Be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide caring, focused support to help students thrive.
• Support preschoolers with learning activities throughout the day.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into tracking software.
• Participate in coaching and training and commit to personal growth.
• Share the service experience with the community.

Benefits

• Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a paycheck (stipend) every two weeks.
