About The Position

Early Learning Corps is hiring Early Learning Tutors to support children in pre-kindergarten classrooms and help them build early literacy, math, and social confidence. Tutors partner with classroom teachers to deliver proven learning activities through conversation, reading, writing, singing, and play. Training and ongoing coaching are provided.

Positions are available for the 2026–27 school year and run from August 2026 through June 2027. Full-time schedules are 35 hours per week, with fewer hours during weeks with holidays or school release days. Part-time schedules of 25 or 18 hours per week are also available. Work takes place during daytime school hours, Monday through Friday, with no weekends and time off on holidays and school release days.

Full-time AmeriCorps members receive a stipend paycheck every two weeks. Stipend amounts and education awards are described on the organization’s careers page.

Requirements

• Be dependable and have a history of good attendance.
• Be able to follow instructions and improve based on feedback.
• Have basic computer skills, including email and navigating online.
• Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent by the start of service.
• Be a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident.
• Successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Support preschoolers with learning activities throughout the day.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school’s on-site coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into tracking software.
• Participate in coaching and training to support personal growth.
• Share the tutoring experience with the community.
