About The Position

Early Learning Corps is hiring Early Learning Tutors to work in pre-kindergarten classrooms and help young students build early literacy and math skills, confidence, and a love of learning. Tutors partner with teachers, deliver proven learning activities, and receive training and ongoing coaching. Positions are for the 2026–27 school year and run from January 2027 through June 2027. The schedule is 32 hours per week, with fewer hours during weeks with holidays or school release days; part-time positions of 25 hours per week are also available. Hours are during the school day, Monday through Friday, with holidays and school release days off. AmeriCorps members have a total service-hour commitment and may occasionally complete approved service or training outside the school day as needed. Full-time members receive a stipend of $18.00 per hour served, paid every two weeks.

Requirements

• Be dependable and have a history of good attendance.
• Be able to follow instructions and make improvements based on feedback.
• Have basic computer skills, including email and navigating online.
• Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
• Be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent by the start of service.
• Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
• Successfully complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Be a caring adult focused on helping students thrive.
• Support preschoolers with learning activities throughout the day.
• Track student progress and meet regularly with the school's onsite coach.
• Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into tracking software.
• Commit to personal growth through coaching and training.
• Share your experience with the community.
