About The Position

The Early Learning Assistant Center Director will be responsible for supporting the center director in managing the early learning center. This role requires a leader who is organized, compassionate, and passionate about early childhood education, with a commitment to the YMCA mission and positive youth development principles.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Minimum three years related experience working with youth ages birth-five in a licensed childcare center.
  • Two or more years of experience in administration or management.
  • Must comply with current WAC requirements.
  • Written proof of education required.
  • 30 Hour STARS Basic Training or exemption.
  • Basic computer knowledge including but not limited to Microsoft programs, Google, etc.

  • Other applicable education, training, and experience, which demonstrate the knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and teams effectively.
  • Serve youth and families.
  • Implement child care or recreation programs.
  • Communicate effectively with youth and adults.
  • Relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
  • Ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Complete CPR, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, Washington State Food Handling Permit, TB Test, DCYF Safe Sleep Training, and other required DCYF Training Modules within 30 days of hire.
  • Fulfill state-specific hiring standards and complete YMCA program specific certifications.
  • Utilize basic computer knowledge including Microsoft programs and Google.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $24.50 - $27.00 Hourly
