About The Position

The Early College High School (ECHS), Pathways in Early College High School (P-TECH), and Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator provides strategic leadership and administrative oversight for the district’s dual-pathway initiatives. This role ensures the successful implementation of the TEA ECHS/P-TECH Blueprint (2.0) while managing CTE programs. The Coordinator serves as the essential link between secondary education, higher education partners, and regional industries to ensure students graduate with both postsecondary degrees and high-value industry certifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s in Education or Administration preferred).
  • Valid State Teaching Certificate; Principal Certificate preferred.
  • 3+ years of teaching; experience in ECHS or CTE leadership preferred.
  • Deep understanding of TEA ECHS Blueprints and CCMR indicators.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with students.
  • Knowledge of Early College/PTECH High School, college admissions, and CTE programs, programs of study, career pathways, and industry-based certification (IBC) requirements as defined by the Texas Education Agency.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze and track student data.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the TEA ECHS and P-TECH Blueprints, ensuring the campus meets all benchmarks for Target Population, P-16 Leadership, and Academic Rigor.
  • Develop and oversee a continuum of work-based learning experiences (internships, apprenticeships, and job shadowing) required for P-TECH compliance.
  • Coordinate with Higher Education partners on faculty credentialing, course sequencing, and degree plan alignment.
  • Facilitate Bridge Programs and tutoring interventions for student success in college coursework and TSIA2 testing.
  • Ensure all CTE Programs of Study align with state standards and high-demand regional labor markets.
  • Coordinate the administration of Industry-Based Certifications (IBCs) and track student attainment for CCMR accountability.
  • In collaboration with the CTE Director, assist in managing and overseeing the allocation, budgeting, and compliance of funds associated with the Federal Perkins V grant, ensuring expenditures align with federal guidelines and support program effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Build alliances with industry leaders, workforce boards, and colleges to provide student internships and dual-credit opportunities.
  • Lead the CTE Advisory Committee and facilitate regular meetings to review curriculum and industry relevance.
  • Lead community information sessions to ensure a diverse student body has access to ECHS/PTECH and CTE pathways.
  • Analyze student performance data for TSIA2, SAT, and ACT cycles to drive instructional improvements.
  • Plan and deliver professional development for staff focused on instructional best practices and industry trends.
  • Ensure accurate coding and reporting of student data for school accountability ratings.
  • Ensure confidentiality of sensitive student information.
  • Participate in professional development, district trainings, and campus initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
