About The Position

Dearborn STEM Academy is a Boston Public School and BPE Teaching Academy serving grades 6-12. Through Dearborn's three Innovation Pathways, Computer Science, Engineering, and Health and Life Science, students are being prepared to graduate with the necessary skills required for college and career success. The school bridges rigorous academics with career readiness, and leverages Boston’s unique position in higher education and industry to provide students with access to authentic real world experiences, while cultivating critical thinking and communications skills. At BPE, we are committed to becoming an increasingly anti-racist organization. We lead with race because we operate in a country founded on the genocide of Indigenous people, the enslavement of African people, and the oppression of countless others. We acknowledge the role this history plays in perpetuating inequity and dominant white culture, and strive to be an organization whose policies, procedures, practices, and programs move toward racial equity. At Dearborn STEM Academy students in grades 10-12 have the option of taking courses at Wentworth, Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology, Bunker Hill Community College and Roxbury Community College to earn college credit for free. The Early College Associate serves as a student advisor, helping students select and enroll in their college classes; as a tutor, supporting students 1:1 with their Early College coursework; and as a member of the Pathways Team, monitoring student progress overall and developing a comprehensive support system across grades 10-12. This position works under the Director of Early College and Career Pathways, running all day-to-day operations for the Early College program and supporting other career pathway initiatives.
