About The Position

Rocky Mountain Prep (RMP) is a network of schools dedicated to changing public education in Colorado by providing college access for historically marginalized students and families. RMP operates twelve schools serving students from early childhood through twelfth grade and focuses on being a world-class learning organization that invests in its educators. Teachers receive ongoing coaching and professional development, supported by clear expectations, transparent feedback, and opportunities for career advancement based on RMP's PEAK values. The RMP Promise emphasizes coaching, development, and championing team members to achieve their best work and professional growth. The early learning program at RMP provides a safe, nurturing, and responsive environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, utilizing play-based learning and strong relationships. Mixed-age classrooms foster connection, holistic understanding, and peer learning. Educators use rigorous play and individualized instruction that respects each child's identity, culture, and experiences. Close partnerships with families are maintained to understand their goals and ensure each child is supported and empowered. The role involves designing and implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based instruction aligned with the Creative Curriculum and individual child needs. It requires building strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues through responsive care and consistent routines. Collaboration with families involves open communication, daily touchpoints, and joint goal-setting. Teachers will support the development of self-help skills with empathy and respect for individual paces and family preferences. Student growth is observed and documented using Teaching Strategies GOLD, informing instruction and family communication. Creating inclusive, identity-affirming classrooms that center equity, belonging, and culturally responsive practices is essential. Collaboration with co-teachers, service providers, and school teams is expected for whole-child support and seamless transitions. Maintaining compliance with licensing expectations and classroom ratios (1:10) is crucial for ensuring child safety and engagement. Teachers are expected to model RMP's PEAK values (Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, Kindness) in all interactions. All teachers at RMP take ownership of student outcomes, set high expectations, use data to guide instruction, and ensure scholar growth through planning, teaching, and re-teaching. They build inclusive, relationship-centered classrooms with proactive routines, culturally responsive practices, and consistent family communication. Teachers collaborate with colleagues and support staff, contribute to school-wide initiatives, and support daily operations for a safe and organized environment. They must also model RMP's PEAK values and remain flexible in a fast-paced, data-driven environment aligned with the Concept Essence.
