About The Position

Paradise Christian School is seeking a Preschool-Head Start VPK Teacher and Teacher Assistant. The role involves educating and caring for young children, supporting their development, and creating a safe, organized classroom environment. Teachers use creative learning activities and curricula to address early childhood development needs, encourage social interaction, and communicate with families about each child’s progress.

Requirements

Preferably have a degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with 18 credits in Early Childhood Education.
Have a CDA or FCCPC.
Meet DCF Child Care Introductory training requirements.
Be energetic and love working with young children.
Speak and read English and Spanish.
Have experience in Early Childhood.
Be able to use a computer and have data entry skills.
Be able to pass an FDLE Level 2 background screening.

Nice To Haves

Preferably have experience in Head Start and/or Early Head Start.
Be knowledgeable about the HighScope Curriculum for preschool and the Creative Curriculum for toddlers.
Be knowledgeable about the Teachstone CLASS tool.
Be knowledgeable about the Pyramid Model.

Responsibilities

Be energetic, maintain a positive disposition, and show a love for working with children.
Teach fundamental concepts such as colors, letters, numbers, and shapes.
Encourage social interactions between children and help improve their self-esteem.
Use creative learning methods, including arts and crafts, supervised play, and storytelling.
Plan comprehensive curricula that address early childhood development needs.
Instill a sense of order and discipline in the classroom.
Monitor children during free time on the playground.
Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and organized.
Prepare for lessons by gathering materials and setting up workstations.
Communicate with parents to better understand children’s home lives and needs.
Write reports for parents on each child’s developmental progress.
