About The Position

The Technology Hill Early Learning Center is seeking Early Childhood Teacher II's to join their new center in Londonderry. This role involves providing leadership and responsibility for classroom planning, implementation, and documentation of a developmentally and culturally appropriate education program for children aged infancy to Preschool. The goal is to create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment where young children can thrive, making a lasting impact on children and families while growing careers in a collaborative and supportive setting. The curriculum aligns with program goals, NH Child Care Licensing Unit (NH CCLU) standards, and NAEYC standards.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a Related Field
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in an early childhood education program
  • Obtaining and maintaining New Hampshire Early Childhood Professional Development credential (per NH Licensing Requirements) is required after the first six (6) months of employment
  • Certified in Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated organization and time management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

  • Takes the lead in developing and implementing curriculum plans providing age-appropriate instruction; makes adaptations in curriculum and classroom environment based on children's needs and interests.
  • Takes responsibility for appropriate child supervision during large group times, small group times, and individual work with children as needed.
  • Organizes and prepares classroom curriculum materials and environment.
  • Prepares documentation displays, assessment portfolios, and family communications journals.
  • Actively participates and responds to center-wide email and other out-of-classroom professional work.
  • Performs classroom-related duties including snack preparation, child diapering/toileting, cleaning, washing dishes, and laundry.
  • Interacts with children at all times in a nurturing and developmentally appropriate way, while encouraging self-help skills.
  • Assures the supervision and safety of children, including the enforcement of child release policies.
  • Leads overall classroom management activities and partners with teaching team members to continuously plan, evaluate, and improve the physical environment in the classroom.
  • Ensures a safe, developmentally appropriate, and trauma-informed care aligned environment for all children in conjunction with NH Child Care Licensing Unit (NH CCLU) rules and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accreditation Standards.
  • Promotes and models developmentally appropriate communication, hygiene, behavior, and nutrition.
  • Assists with daily and weekly maintenance, sterilization of materials, or cleaning to operate a clean, safe, and well-equipped classroom.
  • Supports children during challenging behaviors using positive guidance, developmentally appropriate redirection, and proactive social-emotional strategies.
  • Performs child observation, child assessment, and timely record-keeping in alignment with NAEYC accreditation standards.
  • Demonstrates the use of authentic documentation of children’s daily experiences to show growth over time.
  • Performs ongoing developmental evaluations while following curriculum implementation that addresses the individual needs of each child.
  • Collects and organizes ongoing assessment and documentation materials of children as the basis for curriculum development and reporting to families.
  • Actively contributes to the ongoing professional development, coaching, and supervision of all classroom Teacher I’s, Program Assistants, Volunteers, Interns, etc.
  • Creates, maintains, and continuously enhances respective and supportive individual relationships with parents and prospective parents through effective communication.
  • Develops family education and participation programs and conducts individual parent conferences at least twice annually and when appropriate.
  • Demonstrates cultural competency and respect for the child's background by incorporating cultural, linguistic, and familial values and beliefs into the program and lesson plans.
  • Completes daily health checks regarding hygiene, safety, and overall well-being of the children.
  • Participates in ongoing staff development, in-services, trainings, and additional meetings as required.
  • Attends and contributes to monthly staff meetings/workshops, weekly and bi-weekly team and teacher representative meetings.
  • Creates and implements programs for self-improvement and engages in annual assessment with supervisor.
  • Promotes, trains, and follows all NH CCLU rules & regulations, NAEYC accreditation standards, and Agency & Program policies and procedures.
  • Actively partners with Early Childhood Teacher I’s and other staff to complete NAEYC portfolios and ensure classrooms meet NAEYC Accreditation criteria.
  • Partners with Agency Staff and community partners to address the individual needs of children and families, and maintains all related documentation.
  • Serves on or participates in community programming committees, agency and/or community initiatives, and events as appropriate.
