About The Position

This role provides support by assisting with the daily teaching and functions of an early childhood classroom. The assistant will facilitate play with young children, assist with room setup and cleanup, prepare classroom materials, and follow the daily schedule. Additional duties may be assigned by the classroom teacher or Coordinator. This position is approximately 18-21 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening hours. The role may become benefit eligible if combined with other positions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Successful Background Check required.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs on a regular basis with up to 50 pounds on occasion.
  • General knowledge of practices, methods and techniques used in early childhood classroom teaching.
  • Ability to work effectively with parents and teachers.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Passion for working with children.
  • Exemplifies the following Five Character Traits: compassion, respect, responsibility, self discipline and honesty.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with young children preferred.
