About The Position

This position is for an Infant & Toddler Assistant Teacher in the Early Head Start program at Child Development Resources (CDR) in Williamsburg, VA. CDR is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing exceptional early childhood education. The role involves creating a warm and engaging classroom environment for children aged 6 weeks to 3 years, focusing on their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. The assistant teacher will provide nurturing care, build partnerships with families, create learning experiences through play, and help deliver Early Head Start services. The position is in a new, state-of-the-art facility with a low teacher-to-child ratio (4:1) and a maximum of 8 children per classroom.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers
  • Passion for supporting children and families
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Successful completion of a Child Protective Services background check
  • Successful completion of a TB Risk Assessment
  • Successful completion of a Health examination

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Willing to obtain Infant/Toddler CDA Credential
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards
  • Knowledge of Virginia Child Care Licensing requirements
  • Bilingual skills
  • CPR, First Aid, and MAT certifications
