About The Position

Child Guidance & Family Solutions is seeking compassionate Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants to support childcare centers and preschool classrooms where children's challenging behaviors interfere with learning. The role provides consultation, coaching, and support to classroom teachers and administrative staff, with the goal of helping young children succeed in group learning and preventing their expulsion from preschool and early learning programs. Consultants deliver consultation, early intervention, and prevention services at assigned centers, refer children and families to additional services such as individual therapy, and help teachers and parents manage challenging child behaviors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Previous experience working with children and families.
• Obtain the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (ECMHC) credential and/or Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (IECMHC) credential within the first two years.
• Obtain the Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Associate (OCPSA) credential within the first two years.

Nice To Haves

• Licensure as an LSW, LPC, LISW, or LPCC.
• Previous experience in a classroom, mental health, or early childhood setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation, coaching, and support to classroom teachers and administrative staff.

• Help prevent very young children from being expelled from preschool and early learning programs.
• Refer individual children and families to additional services, including individual therapy.
• Serve as a resource to teachers and parents for managing challenging child behaviors.
