Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant
About The Position
Child Guidance & Family Solutions is seeking qualified, compassionate individuals for Early Childhood Consultant roles. These positions provide professional consultation to childcare centers to help them manage preschool classrooms where children's challenging behaviors interfere with learning. The Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant coaches and supports classroom teachers and administrative staff to help prevent very young children from being expelled from preschool and early learning. In assigned centers, the consultant provides consultation, early intervention, and prevention services; refers individual children and families for additional services, including individual therapy; and serves as a resource to help teachers and parents manage challenging child behaviors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Previous experience working with children and families.
- Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (ECMHC) credential and/or Infant Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (IECMHC) credential required within the first two years.
- Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Associate (OCPSA) credential required within the first two years.
Nice To Haves
- Licensure as LSW, LPC, LISW, or LPCC is a plus.
- Previous experience in a classroom, mental health, or early childhood populations is a plus.
Responsibilities
