About The Position

The Early Childhood Coordinator provides district-level leadership for preschool instructional quality, regulatory compliance, assessment systems, and program operations. The position exercises independent judgment in interpreting state regulations, administering district early childhood systems, evaluating instructional practices, recommending program improvements, and coordinating operational functions that support the district's early childhood program.

Requirements

Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, or closely related field
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in licensed early childhood programs
Current Large Center Director Certification from the Colorado Department of Early Childhood
Valid Colorado Driver's License
Reliable Transportation
Employee must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check and must be cleared by the Office of Human Resources
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary

Responsibilities

Serve as a district resource for instructional quality in assigned preschool classrooms by observing and analyzing instructional practices, identifying areas for improvement, provide professional consultation including modeling best practices, and monitoring the implementation of instructional expectations
Lead and facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) for assigned classrooms, aligning Early Childhood Educator collaboration with District student achievement goals
Prepare and guide Early Childhood Educators through licensing visits by interpreting and applying state licensing regulations; evaluating classroom compliance; identifying deficiencies; developing corrective actions plans; and recommending operations improvements to ensure strict compliance with all rules and regulations from Fire, Health, and State Licensing departments
Collaborate with the Certified ECE Coach to design the training environment and prepare all necessary materials and resources for staff workshops and professional development
Analyze student assessment trends, enrollment data, licensing compliance information, and program performance indicators to identify needs, recommend interventions, and support department decision making
Manage the District's TS Gold platform, including auditing student archives, verifying age-category placements, and ensuring correct data coding
Initiate, monitor, and audit initial baseline data and quarterly checkpoint completion requirements throughout the school year in collaboration with the Early Childhood Department leadership team, Child Find Coordinator, ECSE teachers, and Early Childhood Educators throughout the school year.
Oversee and monitor the initial TS Gold checkpoint framework for kindergarten teachers to ensure a seamless bridge of developmental data
Analyze instructional, assessment, and compliance data and recommend program improvements to the Early Childhood Specialist
Participate in planning and implementation of district-wide early childhood initiatives
Plan and monitor preschool-to-kindergarten transition activities and events, including family presentations, in-school activities, and completion/delivery of transition cards for principals
Conduct formal and informal performance observations of Early Childhood Educators in accordance with District procedures; evaluate instructional practices and provide written feedback, coaching, and professional growth recommendations; Monitor implementation of improvement plans and recommend additional support when needed; and provide input regarding employee performance and professional development needs
Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Early Childhood Specialist
