About The Position

Centres for Early Learning (CEL) is a fully licensed organization by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and Toronto Children’s Services, comprising ten childcare centers that serve communities in various high-need areas of Toronto and Milton, Ontario. CEL believes that the right learning environment supports child development. With programs for infants to children 12 years of age, our centers offer fun, educational environments that parents trust and rely on. Our Education Curriculum is designed to meet the individual developmental needs of each child, including social, physical, intellectual, creative, emotional and self-concept. CEL has been enriching lives for the past 47 years, making a difference in the lives of children, families, and the communities they serve. The ECA is responsible for supporting the RECE, stimulating, influencing, and caring for the children. Their principal responsibilities include maintaining a high-quality environment, assessing, observing, and caring for the individual needs of every child, and maintaining open and honest lines of communication between parents and team members, always exemplifying professionalism.

Requirements

Up-to-date First Aid and CPR
Up-to-date Immunization and 2 tiered TB test
Confident and flexible in working with all age groups (Infants to School Age).
Ability to manage children with challenging behaviours and communicate effectively with parents.
Excellent teamwork skills
Vulnerable Sector Check

Responsibilities

Support the RECE in planning and implementing a program and daily activities.
Works cooperatively as a team member, encourages others to do likewise, and consistently maintains a positive attitude.
Report any issues or concerns that may arise in accordance with proper procedures.
Supports the direction and participate with children in all planned activities.
Use well-developed interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff, and parents.
Maintains the cleanliness of the classroom.
