Build your Career. Make a Difference. Presbyterian is hiring a skilled Employee Assistance Program Counselor to support Santa Fe, NM. This is a full-time, exempt position based at the Reverend Hugh Cooper Administrative Center, with a work shift during the day.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, or social work
  • Current license to practice independently in New Mexico (LPCC, LMFT, LISW, or LCSW) license is required
  • Ability to travel and function independently of direct onsite supervision while providing high quality care

Nice To Haves

  • Obtain Certified Employee Assistance Professionals (CEAP) within 2 years of hire
  • Obtain Substance Abuse Professional Certification (SAP) within 2 years of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical mental health services directly to eligible employee assistance program clients and program participants for the State of New Mexico (SONM).
  • Work in concert with EAP clinical and administrative staff on ways to improve efficiency and delivery of services.
  • Provide EAP services at various on-site locations as well as via telehealth or phone.
  • Provide onsite or virtual Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISDs) for SONM employees.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for EAP-related consultations with managers and HR within SONM.
  • Deliver direct services to individuals and groups using clinical assessment, brief solution-focused counseling, coaching, consulting, mediation, and crisis response to employees in business environments.
  • Assess clinical needs and triage clients to receive proper support through skill building, case management, resourcing, and referrals for longer-term therapy.
  • Collaborate on team projects to improve EAP service delivery to employees, companies, and business partners.
  • Consult with employees and organizations on a variety of EAP-related issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with SONM Human Resources and organizational leaders to manage EAP referrals to address employee job performance concerns as needed.
  • Perform clinical assessment of the level of risk, substance abuse and dependency, and appropriate level of care.
  • Facilitate on-site group support for work teams to debrief and provide clinical psychological first aid following a workplace critical incident (CISD).
  • Develop effective working relationships across organizational lines within SONM to increase EAP utilization.
  • Consult with Clinical Manager and/or EAP Director as needed regarding ethical or clinical concerns on a case-by-case basis.
  • Maintain professional license and relevant certifications by participating in educational programs and completing all continuing education requirements in a timely manner.
  • Support and engage with fellow EAP team members to help build a high-performance team.
