About The Position

This internship offers a comprehensive understanding of the residential construction industry, equipping interns with marketable skills. The Eagle Academy program provides constructive feedback and a growth-oriented learning environment. Interns will gain observational experience with the Eagle Construction Process, observe collaborative team meetings, and understand workflow assignments across Sales, Design & Marketing, Financial & Land Acquisition Management, Field Operations (Development & Production), and Preconstruction (Purchasing/Estimating/Drafting). The program includes job-specific training where interns will work in one of the four main areas of Eagle Construction under a supervising Mentor, performing real-time tasks. Weekly one-on-one feedback sessions with the Mentor will focus on role clarity, learning goals, and understanding the overall vision of Eagle Construction of VA. The internship concludes with a Workforce Readiness component, involving an extensive interview process with supervisors, an Eagle Leadership Team member, and the Human Capital Manager to discuss the internship experience, performance, industry insights, and potential future paths.

Requirements

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent people and communication skills; highly motivated, enthusiastic, with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and MS Project.
  • Able to multi-task and meet various project deadlines; work independently and a demonstrated ability to manage projects and clients.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Gain observational experience with the Eagle Construction Process.
  • Observe collaborative team meetings and workflow assignments in each of the four main areas of Eagle Construction: Sales, Design, & Marketing, Financial & Land Acquisition Management, Field Operations(Development & Production), and Preconstruction (Purchasing/Estimating/Drafting).
  • Engage in relationship-building by asking questions of Eagle Employees and “Rotation Supervisor” during the introductory period to help clarify responsibilities of team members as part of the Eagle Construction Process.
  • Work within one of the four main areas of Eagle Construction as a focus for the remainder of the internship, working directly for a supervising “Mentor” and perform real-time tasks to further the goals of that department.
  • Attend weekly one-on-one feedback sessions with the Mentor to seek clarity of roles, set learning goals, and further foster an understanding of the overall vision of Eagle Construction of VA.
  • Prepare for and participate in an extensive interview process with supervisor, a member of the Eagle Leadership Team, and Human Capital Manager, to discuss: the overall experience; your performance related to the goals you and your mentor set, the industry, and potential paths forward as you complete your education.
