Requirements

Minimum 1 year Electric Arc Furnace First Helper experience

Nice To Haves

Prior Meltshop or steel mill experience.

Responsibilities

Adhere to all requirements for protective equipment for those areas.
Make timely and accurate decisions under pressure.
Ensure the safety of his team.
Train the EAF Helpers on his crew.
Operate and perform refractory maintenance of the EAF.
Balance oxygen and carbon inside the EAF.
Balance the slag chemistry inside the EAF.
Ensure the quality of heats that are delivered to the LMF.
Support the goals of the Melt Shop and Nucor-Yamato Steel in Safety, Quality, Environmental, Cost, and Productivity on their shift.
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
