About The Position

Home Care Assistance is seeking a Personal Support Worker (PSW) for casual vacancies supporting community clients with high behavioral needs. This role requires a compassionate individual who can assist clients with daily living activities, provide support, and ensure their well-being. The position offers flexible scheduling, primarily after school hours, with evening and night availability being a requirement. AI technology is used during the recruitment process for pre-screening purposes and to match resumes with job requirements.

Requirements

Experience of over 3 years is required
Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
Valid CPR/First Aid certification
Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
2 Satisfactory professional references
Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
Evenings and night availability are a requirement.

Nice To Haves

Holds a current CPI blue card or Safe Management certificate
3+ years experience with youth with high behaviors such as ADHD, Autism, etc.
Open availability is an asset.

Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client's care plan
Supporting client with any assigned exercises daily if required
Providing medication support and management
Providing cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral and spiritual support
Able to reapproach and understand avoiding triggers.
Comfortable driving clients to events, community activities in own vehicle
Maintaining open communication with client and family
Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
Responding to all emergency situations
All other duties, as assigned
