About The Position

Home Care Assistance is seeking three casual PSWs/DSWs for our high-behavior community clients. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others and seeking a rewarding career with excellent benefits. The position requires a male PSW/DSW with experience in high-behavior situations, particularly with youth exhibiting conditions such as ADHD and Autism. Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and nights, is essential, with shifts typically in 4-hour blocks after school hours. Open availability is considered an asset.

Requirements

PSW/DSW certification from a public college/learning center OR additional NACC certification is required
PSW experience of over 3 years is required
Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
Valid CPR/First Aid certification
Completion of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check within last 6 months
2 Satisfactory professional references
Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions
Must be able to anticipate problems and use sound judgment and tact in handling confidential matters
Holds a current CPI blue card or Safe Management certificate, or has 3+ years experience with youth with high behaviors such as ADHD, Autism, etc.
Evenings and night availability are a requirement.

Responsibilities

Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and personal care including eating, dressing, transferring, toileting, hygiene, grooming, and bathing as per client's care plan
Supporting client with any assigned exercises daily if required
Providing medication support and management
Providing cognitive, social, emotional, behavioral and spiritual support
Able to reapproach and understand avoiding triggers.
Comfortable driving clients to events, community activities in own vehicle
Maintaining open communication with client and family
Monitoring care plan and adding detailed documentation with any changes and updates
Responding to all emergency situations
All other duties, as assigned
