This classification is safety sensitive, subject to random drug testing in accordance with the County’s Drug & Alcohol Policy. The E911 Shift Supervisor supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, develops and oversees employee work schedules, and handles employee concerns. This role also supervises operations in an assigned section on an assigned shift, providing guidance, instruction, and training, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The supervisor assists operators during critical incidents, high volume periods, and medical emergencies, coordinating responses and providing lifesaving instructions. They dispatch agency personnel, coordinate multi-unit responses, and maintain awareness of available units. The position involves utilizing computer systems to enter and retrieve data, including information from GCIC and NCIC, and compiling data for customer surveys and quality assurance. The supervisor may also testify in court, process Open Records requests, and temporarily perform duties of the E-911 Watch Commander.
