About The Position

The World Bank Group's Climate Department plays a central role in advancing the WBG's climate agenda, integrating climate considerations across operations, partnerships, and knowledge work. Within the Climate Department, the Strategy, Learning, and Operations team (KTCSL) is responsible for driving the Department's knowledge management, learning, and internal communications agenda, ensuring that staff, clients, and partners have access to the knowledge, skills, and information they need to deliver impactful climate outcomes. KTCSL manages a portfolio of learning programs targeting both internal staff and external clients, including flagship initiatives such as the Sustainable Buildings Finance Executive Course (SBFEC), the Jurisdictional MRV Course, and an evolving pipeline of climate learning, knowledge-sharing, and engagement initiatives. In parallel, the team provides strategic communications, knowledge management, and stakeholder engagement support across the Climate Department. To strengthen delivery of this agenda, KTCSL is seeking an ET Consultant – Knowledge Management, Learning and Communications to support the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of its learning programs, knowledge management activities, internal communications products, and departmental engagement initiatives. The objective of this position is to provide dedicated technical and operational support to KTCSL's knowledge management, learning, communications, and engagement functions, ensuring the effective design, delivery, and continuous improvement of learning programs, knowledge systems, communications products, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in communications, Marketing, Knowledge Management, Business Administration, Sustainability, Adult Learning, Organizational Development, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in knowledge management, learning program design and delivery, communications, stakeholder engagement, or related functions.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, delivering, and facilitating WBG Climate Department learning programs, events, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in knowledge management, learning, and communications functions, including the management of knowledge systems, learning programs, and strategic communications products.
  • Proven experience interfacing directly with internal and external clients to create learning programs, knowledge products, events, and engagement initiatives.
  • Experience developing communications materials for senior leadership in the WBG Climate context.
  • Experience working on climate, sustainable finance, sustainable buildings, MRV, Paris Alignment, or related development topics.
  • Experience in strategic communications, marketing, branding, audience engagement, and content development across digital and in-person channels.
  • Demonstrated experience designing engaging learning, event, and stakeholder experiences that strengthen participation, visibility, and knowledge uptake.
  • Solid understanding of knowledge management, learning, and communications principles; ability to contribute to programmatic solutions and incorporate feedback on knowledge, learning, and engagement activities.
  • Strong ability to design and deliver knowledge services, learning programs, communications products, and engagement initiatives with minimal guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop communications products, branding materials, marketing campaigns, and participant-centered experiences that support learning and engagement objectives.
  • Strong organizational and facilitation skills; ability to proactively engage stakeholder communities, manage working groups, and build collaborative networks across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience supporting the adoption of knowledge, learning, and communications initiatives through effective engagement and facilitation approaches.
  • Familiarity with knowledge-management platforms, learning technologies, collaboration tools, and digital communications solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to tailor communications to diverse audiences; strong analytical, writing, editing, and storytelling skills; ability to package complex information clearly and compellingly.
  • Ability to work across sectoral and thematic boundaries; synthesizes inputs from multiple sources to support learning, communications, knowledge-management, and engagement objectives.
  • Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with colleagues, clients, partners, and external stakeholders to support collaborative delivery and knowledge exchange.
  • Familiarity with WBG structure, operations, climate priorities, and development initiatives; ability to situate learning, communications, and knowledge-management activities within the broader institutional context.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the end-to-end design, planning, coordination, and delivery of learning programs, including the Sustainable Buildings Finance Executive Course (SBFEC) and Jurisdictional MRV Course.
  • Manage participant engagement, stakeholder coordination, communications, branding, visibility, and operational delivery.
  • Apply adult-learning principles, feedback, and lessons learned to continuously improve participant experience and program quality.
  • Coordinate development of learning materials, assessments, evaluations, and reporting.
  • Support internal staff learning, retreats, capacity-building activities, and knowledge-sharing events.
  • Provide strategic communications support for Climate Department leadership and priority initiatives.
  • Develop newsletters, campaigns, emails, presentations, talking points, briefing materials, and storytelling products.
  • Support executive thought leadership, visibility, audience engagement, and internal communications campaigns.
  • Provide communications analytics and recommendations to improve reach and engagement.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of the Department knowledge-management platform and processes.
  • Coordinate knowledge champions and user-engagement activities.
  • Develop adoption, change-management, training, and communications materials.
  • Provide secretariat support to the Climate Network, including meeting coordination, agendas, action tracking, and documentation.
  • Support COP-related activities, strategic events, workshops, mentoring initiatives, and departmental engagement programs.
  • Lead or support marketing, branding, experience design, experiential marketing, and audience-engagement activities.
  • Capture and package knowledge products, lessons learned, success stories, and portfolio highlights.
