About The Position

This role will assist the Digital & Print Collections Management Librarian in ensuring our online resources are working properly to help create a better online experience for our users. The Library has over a million electronic resources, including streaming video and audio. This position will involve testing access on and off campus therefore allowing for some remote work. The position will also include working with the physical library collections, helping with projects such as yearly inventory.

Requirements

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  • Federal Work Study student may apply.
  • In good disciplinary standing.
  • Must be located in the U.S.
  • Familiarity with search engines and basic research skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good note taking skills to record work.
  • Familiarity with Google Sheets.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Interest in how to use and promote use of library resources.

Responsibilities

  • Test access to electronic resources, note issues, and work with staff members to fix them.
  • Inventory physical library collections, help staff members fix discrepancies, and pull items for processing as needed.
  • Deprocess materials when they are removed from the library collection.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned.
