The basic function of this role is to develop planned job packages for E&I maintenance repair work and improvement projects based on priorities established by the gatekeeper and Operations. The job plans must fully satisfy the notification scope and include all material, services, resources and appropriate scheduling logic between individual operations or tasks. This position must ensure that enough work is planned to satisfy production needs as well as the available man-hour capacity.

Requirements

  • 5 years of/in a maintenance related role.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Organization, Planning, supervision, and motivation skills are required, as well as mechanical aptitude and experience with a CMMS system and Microsoft office.
  • Experience with a CMMS system along with Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Good oral and written communication skills are required in this position along with the ability to organize and plan work for the maintenance department.
  • Willingness to work around dust, chemicals, high pressure, high temperature, loud noises, and running equipment.
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, steel toed boots and hearing protection).
  • Must be able to lift as much as 50 lbs.
  • This position is safety and security sensitive in nature.
  • This position deals with hazardous materials and/or industrial processes that can pose a risk to employees and the general public.
  • This facility is required to comply with security standards under Department of Homeland Security (DHS) CFATS regulation 6 CFR Part 27.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred candidates will have strong mechanical aptitude and technical maintenance experience with the ability to understand blueprints and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Providing necessary planning information that insures safe and efficient execution of critical priority 1 and 2 jobs. The planner works in the future, emergency work and break in is managed by the E&I supervisor.
  • Participating in the management of notification and work order backlog by: Reviewing backlog and planning list for duplicates Grouping notifications together that can be planned and worked as a single order that optimizes utilization of resources Ensuring plans are in place that meet the timing requirements of the process units Checking for understanding of scope through notification text and field walk through Changing notification(s) to orders which includes Ensuring that order type and maintenance activity types are accurately assigned on the order Using or creating task lists for repetitive jobs Using or creating BOM’s where appropriate Building or copying the job plan that clearly shows: The special instructions and required documentation such as, QA/QC needs, wiring schematics, etc. Required skill crafts and duration Specialty tools and equipment Optimal scheduling logic between operations Reservation or purchase order for necessary components Participating in bidding process and requisitioning for third party services Routing high-cost orders through the operations manager for verification that work order provides appropriate return on investment relative to the current business environment Forwarding job packages to the E&I Supervisor Soliciting feedback on executed job plans and making any necessary changes to ensure planning and work efficiencies continue to improve Writing necessary change orders for third party services upon job completion Filling in for Supervisor roles and responsibilities as needed Working unit outages, turnarounds, special projects, sometimes at nights and on weekends as needed.
