About The Position

This role is generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision. The primary responsibilities will include leading assigned portions of outage scope through planning and execution stages, organizing materials, developing scope for assigned work orders, creating detailed job packages, providing daily schedule updates, supporting Management of Change processes, and maintaining communication with various stakeholders. The position requires upholding high standards of housekeeping, completing close-out documentation, and demonstrating the ability to work without close supervision, professionally and harmoniously with co-workers, and with a positive attitude. The role also requires achieving state-mandated/federal certifications like OSHA and TWIC, and prioritizing a "Zero is achievable" safety policy with high ethical standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 10+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and planning skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Understands electrical and instrumentation construction and workflow processes.
  • Some bending, climbing, crawling, lifting and shift work will be required.
  • Ability to accurately perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to read and interpret Electrical & Instrumentation drawings and PID’s.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing test / work packages for issuance to the field.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Electrical & Instrumentation package planning and/or 10+ years of E&I journey-level maintenance experience.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) SAP, Primavera P6, Adobe.
  • 10+ years’ experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines, preferably with experience in industrial outages, LV & HV Motors, heaters, power distribution equipment, and general preventative maintenance on various electrical components.
  • Working knowledge of process instrumentation including Flow, Level, Pressure, and Temperature devices.
  • Understands quality standards as outlined by client
  • Ability to take trips during the Planning Phase to gather information necessary to properly plan work scope defined.
  • Required to be on-site for the duration of the Outage Execution timeframe to coordinate contractors executing planned work scopes, and to ensure Safe Work Practices and QAQC processes are being followed. Timeframes vary but an average outage duration is 30-45 days.
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field is highly preferred.
  • AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned portion of outage scope through planning and execution stage.
  • Organizing materials through expediting, quoting prices, and ensuring the correct parts are available for jobs
  • Develop scope for assigned work orders within the outage, identifying secondary and/or support disciplines required.
  • Create detailed job packages in Cleopatra for each work order utilizing planning templates as applicable. Activities include individual tasks, manpower, durations, and assigned discipline.
  • Provide daily schedule updates during outage execution.
  • Create job planning packages for each work order per site guidelines for both internal and external distribution, e.g. bid events, contractor field personnel, etc. Packages may include pictures, P&IDs, BOMs, tools, safe work procedures, applicable standards, QC requirements, etc.
  • Provide leadership in risk management, contractor safety, and mitigating safety issues in operations.
  • Support Management of Change processes, recognizing plant changes and following through on all documentation and recommendations in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining communication with craftspeople, contractor representatives, and materials suppliers.
  • Uphold and communicate high standards of housekeeping in assigned areas and on all job sites. Conduct frequent formal housekeeping inspections of plant areas.
  • Complete close out and documentation as required by standards and procedures.
  • Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours, following strict fatigue management guidelines.
  • Ability to work without close supervision.
