Domaine d'expertise: Le candidat choisi se joindra à l’équipe des Systèmes électriques, Composants externes – Installations et nacelles, pour participer aux travaux effectués dans le cadre d’affectations complexes associées à la conception d’accessoires électriques et électroniques pour moteurs à turbines à gaz, particulièrement pour la conception, la validation et la certification des systèmes de commande de moteurs à turbines à gaz et composants connexes pour les moteurs à turbines à gaz de P&WC. Ce poste exige une solide compréhension de la conception des systèmes de commande électroniques pour les unités de commande électronique de moteurs, ainsi que pour l’application de capteurs et d’actionneurs associés aux systèmes de commande de moteurs à turbines. Le candidat devra effectuer l’analyse technique initiale de système pour les nouveaux systèmes de commande électronique de moteurs, ainsi que créer les spécifications pour ces systèmes et évaluer les réponses des fournisseurs à ces spécifications. Le candidat devra aussi avoir une connaissance pratique des principes de conception électronique applicables à l’environnement aéronautique.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in engineering with 5 to 7 years' experience
  • Master degree with a minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience
  • Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one work area.
  • Typically has broad knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
  • Typically requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience
  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review, evaluate and develop supplier designs of powered electronic and passive electrical accessories needed for aircraft engines to meet performance, reliability and customer needs
  • Create specifications, apply technical knowledge
  • Plan and coordinate with suppliers as required
  • Define functional, operational, physical and qualification requirements for engine electronic controls, sensors, effectors and associated interconnecting components
  • Support component and system validation test activities as required. On-site support at various sites may be required in support of certification activities
  • Support engine control system Electromagnetic tests, including the development and execution of test plans and review of the test results
  • Review and interpret test data produced during component and engine validation testing
  • Generate top-level certification reports for submittal to national and foreign airworthiness certification authorities
  • Provide continuous improvement to organizational processes based on lessons learned through product development and in-service experience
  • Provide technical support to suppliers to ensure smooth transition of new products into production
  • Provide technical support to P&WC’s aftermarket sector to advance field issues
