About The Position

The National Fraud Enforcement Division (FRD), established by the Department of Justice on April 7, 2026, is a new, centralized litigating division dedicated to investigating and prosecuting fraud against taxpayer‑funded programs, including healthcare, tax, and benefits fraud. The Division unites several DOJ components to create a coordinated, whole‑of‑government approach to combat fraud. As part of its launch, FRD is standing up an Analytics and AI Lab to deliver cutting‑edge data solutions for complex legal matters. The Systems Analyst will play a critical role in processing diverse data types, supporting advanced analytical workflows, and contributing to major technical initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of hands‑on experience working directly with the systems and tools described.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze system requirements and translate them into sound technical designs.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in Oracle, SQL, Python scripting, and specialized data formats including mobile device, social media, forensic image, and audio/video data.
  • Broad knowledge of government IT environments, including office automation networks and PC/server‑based applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a DOJ MBI (U.S. citizenship required).

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory or team lead experience is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with automated litigation support systems is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred, ideally in computer science, information management, or related disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Process 3–5 mobile devices weekly and create RSMF files for ingesting text messages into Relativity.
  • Capture and prepare 3–5 web and/or video sources weekly for evidentiary review.
  • Handle proprietary databases, reports, and non‑standard file types, providing technical solutions for unique data challenges.
  • Support the migration of 1 PD of data from Relativity Server to RelOne, a primary initiative in the first 6–8 months.
  • Identify patterns and insights in large datasets using visualization tools, advanced analytical methods, and AI technologies.
  • Participate in projects involving field capture, transcription, language processing, and similar specialized data workflows.
  • Contribute to FRD’s Analytics and AI Lab by developing solutions within both on‑premises and cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with OIT to design, build, and deploy technical solutions supporting litigation and investigative teams.
  • Apply modern ETL techniques and solutions engineering to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.
